Diamond Knife Repair
What To Expect
Once we receive your diamond knife, it will be evaluated by our Master Technician. Our customer service team will then contact you with a formal quote and be available to assist with any questions. Once the quote is approved, our expert team of technicians will re-hone the diamond blade back to its original condition, service the handle, and give the device a thorough cleaning to remove any loose debris. The diamond knife is then sent to our QC department, where it will undergo a final quality control inspection, before being sent back to you.
The Repair Process
After the diamond blade is removed from the handle, it is delicately honed to remove all existing damage. Each cutting edge is then individually sharpened until they are visually flawless, and all points meet to within 0.005mm. Once honing is complete, the entire blade is inspected, under 320x magnification, to verify these specifications. The finished blade is then mounted back into the original handle, using FDA approved and certified epoxy. (Preset, LRI, Step, and Micrometer handles are calibrated to within 0.005mm accuracy, during this stage.) The reassembled diamond knife then sent to our Quality Control team to undergo a final inspection. Once it passes QC, the diamond knife receives a "lock collar' preventing blade exposure during transit, is securely packaged up, and sent back to the customer.
Mounting & Handle Repair
If your diamond blade is not damaged but, has come loose from the handle, we will remount and calibrate it for you. Calibrated devices are set to within 0.005mm accuracy of the depth specified on the handle. Diamond blades are attached to the handle using only FDA approved and certified epoxy. Autoclave and surgery safe.
